Ms. Emhardt is admitted to practice before all district courts in California. Her practice is focused on litigating class actions on behalf of consumers who were misled by false advertising or other unlawful business practices. She is especially motivated to address and remedy misleading health and wellness claims on food and beverage labeling, particularly as it relates to the intersection of nutrition science and public health, as well as misleading environmental and wellness claims on cosmetics and personal care products.

 

Prior to joining Fitzgerald Monroe Flynn, Ms. Emhardt worked in insurance defense litigation and uninsured & underinsured motorist claims. She served as a Post Bar Intern at the Office of the City Attorney of San Diego, in the Criminal Division’s “Case Issuance” Unit. In law school she worked at a plaintiffs’ personal injury and medical malpractice firm in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

 

Ms. Emhardt obtained her undergraduate degree from DePauw University and subsequently attended the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Tutorial Society Legal Writing Tutor.
